The Chronology of Fiersa Besari Regarding His Song Performed by Tiara Idol

Tiara, who performed the song, was seen by the judges and many viewers, which raised a question about the song's permission to the songwriter.

It is known that Fiersa Besari uploaded Tiara's Youtube video on his Twitter account @FiersaBesari when she sang the song on the Indonesian Idol show. He praised Tiara's beautiful voice, and even wrote a short message "Her voice is really good," along with a heart emoticon in his tweets.

Not only that, the tweet uploaded by Fiersa Besari made one Twitter account @barcelonabryan ask about Tiara's permission to perform the song titled 'Waktu yang Salah'.

"Just curious: if they want to perform at events like this, do they ask for permission before performing?," said @barcelonabryan.

With the question asked by one Twitter account, Fiersa immediately answered it clearly.

""Idol's side asked for permission from my manager. At that time, I was also asked to come and give a surprise. But, because I was busy in Bandung, I politely declined," Fiersa answered Bryan's question.

"Oh, correction. Not permission. But, asking me to come and give a surprise when one of the contestants performs my song. More like: maybe a notification," he corrected.

2. Raising Permission and Copyright Issues

Back and forth, one of the Twitter accounts @barcelonabryan also raised permission issues, and Fiersa also explained about copyright.

"oh, I see. There is a kulonuwun process, right? Just curious, I thought it was just about playing, because there have been several musicians complaining about not having permission if it's played on TV," Bryan expressed his opinion.

"It seems to depend on the TV station and the musicians faced, Mas. It seems that many TV stations feel that by mentioning the creator's name, it's already legal. But copyrights are more complicated than that. I learned a lot after dealing with the complicated YouTube copyright system," Fiersa responded.
