The Panturas Perform at Soundrenaline 2025, Still Nervous Before Going on Stage

Many assume that a band as big as The Panturas is very accustomed to the spotlight. However, the reality is different. Despite having logged hundreds of hours on stage, the nerves still hit the members before performing at Soundrenaline 2025.

A special performance collaborating with traditional artists is one of the main triggers for the increased tension. Kuya admits that there is a mental burden when it comes to blending modern music with traditional art.

"It's quite nerve-wracking because this is our first time collaborating with Tarawangsawelas," said Kuya to Kapanlagi.com, after performing at Soundrenaline 2025, Sunday (21/12/2025).

Gogon added that the tension even made them prefer to spend time smoking rather than eating the food provided by the organizers. The tension before this special stage felt much more intense compared to other regular stages.

"Just joking, eating riders, but it’s just that we are a bit nervous before performing. Especially today because it's a special set, special show, so it’s a bit tense. So earlier, we mostly smoked rather than ate to ease the tension," Gogon revealed.

Interestingly, Gogon has a statistical record of their stage journey so far. Even though they have reached their 399th stage, that feeling of nervousness is considered normal for a musician.

"Today is the 401st stage for Panturas and it’s still tense. Almost, I noted because there are points of the stage all over the world that we have visited from Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan to yesterday in Japan, all marked like that. And this is the 399th stage," explained Gogon.

After successfully closing their performance at Soundrenaline 2025, The Panturas' main focus in 2026 is to start the process of working on their third album. After several years since releasing their last full album, Acin and friends feel that next year is the right time to conduct a workshop for new material.

"Most likely we are preparing new songs. We want to have a workshop first for the third album," said Kuya to Kapanlagi.com.

Besides the album matters, Gogon also explained that they are preparing a video project titled 'live session'. This project will be special as it will take place at various historic locations in Sumedang, West Java.

"The closest thing we have prepared is that we want to release a live session. We will present the set of Galur Tropikalia, which is the Sundanese album, and we will try to combine it with the film from Linss Film, so later in the video, you can see how we try at various points in Sumedang, specifically in Sumedang we will perform at six points bringing our Sundanese album songs," said Gogon.

Not stopping domestically, the dream to reach the international stage is also getting stronger. After having tasted the Fuji Rock stage in Japan, The Panturas is now targeting the United States as the next destination in 2026.

"In America, I would love to perform in the US. Heeh or just the standard garage rock band at Glastonbury, right? Let's hope for it," Gogon expressed.
