The Story of Sarah Azhari's Umrah, Experience Peace and Become More Disciplined in Worship

The umrah pilgrimage is one of the spiritual journeys that leaves a deep impression on Sarah Azhari. Amid her busy schedule, she took the time to visit the Holy Land some time ago. This religious experience is acknowledged by Sarah to bring a unique tranquility to her soul, even though there were physical challenges to face while there.

Sarah does not deny that the pilgrimage journey also has its challenges, including sometimes declining physical condition. However, she views this as part of the dynamics of a spiritual journey that many pilgrims naturally experience. For her, the experience there remains something very valuable.

"Every umrah definitely has its challenges. It is indeed a spiritual experience, including spiritual experiences," said Sarah Azhari when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, Tuesday (2/12/2025).

"But in my opinion, it’s nice, more relieved, cooler, you know. It’s a better way for us to get closer to Allah and to be more disciplined, you know," she expressed.

One of the most positive impacts that Sarah felt was the increase in discipline in her worship. The conducive atmosphere in the Holy Land made her worship rhythm very regular. She feels grateful because while she was there, she could maintain her prayers without interruption, a habit she wishes to keep.

"With Umrah, we will definitely pray continuously while we are there, alhamdulillah," she said.

Sarah hopes that the good habits formed during Umrah can continue to be applied in her daily life after returning home. She gave an analogy like the month of Ramadan, where someone is trained to be more diligent in worship. Her hope is that this discipline does not fade away just because the worship moment is over.

"So we can apply it to our daily lives, like during the month of Ramadan when fasting, which initially had gaps in prayers, eventually there are no gaps. That's the example," concluded Sarah.
