Arya Saloka on Unpleasant Odor and Becoming a Motorcycle Taxi Driver in 'ALGOJO'

Kapanlagi.com - The totality of the production of the ALGOJO series is serious. In order to achieve authentic visuals that align with the story, the production team chose challenging filming locations, one of which is in the Tanjung Priok area, North Jakarta. This location was chosen to depict the harsh environment where the character Zar lives.

Arya Saloka shares his unique experiences while filming there. Besides the scorching hot weather typical of the Jakarta coast, there was another issue that tested the endurance of the cast and crew, which was the sanitation problem at the basecamp.

1. Arya Saloka's Challenges on the Shooting Location

"Actually, we were shooting in the middle of it all. Maybe the challenging part was when we were in the middle, our basecamp's bathroom didn't smell very good, right? There were days, the last two or three days, it was really unpleasant," said Arya Saloka when met in the Senayan area on Tuesday (11/12/2025).

2. Arya Saloka Grateful for Moving Shooting Locations

The uncomfortable water and smell conditions lasted for several days. However, Arya is grateful because they finally moved to the set of Zar's character's house, which has better facilities.

"But in the end, we set it in Zar's house, so we got a bathroom in that house, which is nice," he said.

3. Arya Saloka on Being a Motorcycle Taxi Driver

Regarding interactions with the local residents and the profession of being a motorcycle taxi driver that he plays, Arya admitted that he did not experience any significant difficulties. He, who is known to be humble, feels accustomed to mingling with various layers of society, including the base motorcycle taxi drivers.

"As for the profession, being a motorcycle taxi driver, I actually enjoy mingling and making friends. So, I have many friends from various backgrounds. I also have friends who are motorcycle taxi drivers, so it's quite normal for me to hang out at the base motorcycle taxi stand," he explained.
