The legal counsel considers this step crucial so that Ammar can defend himself optimally without the technical difficulties that usually occur in online hearings.

"Yes, as you can see, it was initially a request from the lawyer, right? After that, it was addressed by the judge with a ruling. With that ruling, it was finally quickly managed. Because of the MOU regulations," said Jon Mathias when met at the Cipinang prison in East Jakarta, Wednesday (17/12/2025).

"Well, after the Minister of Law and Human Rights was informed by the prosecutor directly to his minister and to the Minister of Law and Human Rights, finally the Minister of Law and Human Rights, being a lawyer, responded accordingly. Then the Minister of Corrections also understands the rules of lawyers better. In the end, he gave orders to the Director General to issue a kind of permit for Amar to be temporarily transferred here to conduct the offline trial," explained Jon Mathias.

"Yes, it's definitely a good step. Because with him being present in the trial, it means he will provide verbal statements, without any psychological pressure," he said.
