Ammar Zoni Upset Witness Rutan Officer Forgot a Lot in Court

Ammar Zoni is back in court for his drug case at the Central Jakarta District Court with the agenda of witness testimony on Thursday (18/12/2025). During this trial, the atmosphere became tense when the former husband of Irish Bella expressed his dissatisfaction with the testimony of witness Eka Karjareja.

The witness, who is a rutan officer, often provided forgetful answers when questioned by Ammar regarding the details of the search. This uncertainty in the witness's memory is suspected to be due to the long time gap between the incident and the trial.

The incident of the cell search is known to have occurred in January 2025, while the trial only began in December 2025. Ammar feels that the details of the event are crucial for his defense, especially regarding the position of the evidence found by the officers.

"Mr. Witness, please remember carefully. When you searched my room, was I above or below?" said Ammar Zoni in the middle of the trial.

Ammar tried to dig deeper to see if the witness really saw him holding the evidence or not. However, the witness Eka Karjareja repeatedly claimed not to remember the details of the positions of the cell occupants during the search. This made Ammar appear frustrated because the witness was seen as providing vague testimony regarding his presence in the room.

"At that time, was I still at the crime scene (in the cell) or had you already brought me to the front?" asked Ammar Zoni.

The judge intervened because the witness kept giving forgetful answers and asked Ammar not to keep pressing. Although the witness had been sworn in, fading memories after almost a year since the incident became the main obstacle in finding clarity regarding the position of the evidence.

"Well, those are the important points that were forgotten, which makes it funny, you know. We are seeking truth and justice here because this is our fate, Sir. You have been sworn in under the Qur'an," emphasized Ammar Zoni.

At the end of the Q&A session, Ammar consistently refuted the testimony of the prison officer. He insisted that the facts on the ground were different from what the witness presented in front of the panel of judges.

Ammar concluded his statement by asserting that the illegal items found above the cell door did not belong to him. "Most importantly, those are not my belongings, Your Honor," said Ammar Zoni.
