The Stage Was Left Empty, FSTVLST & The Adams Discuss on Stage at Pestapora 2025

The atmosphere of the Boss Stage at Pestapora felt different than usual. After a series of musicians like Hindia, Efek Rumah Kaca, and The Panturas announced their withdrawal in protest against the sponsorship of PT Freeport, the fate of the performance of FSTVLST and The Adams became a mystery. However, what happened next was truly unexpected.

Instead of a grand performance on the prepared stage, the stage was left empty. Suddenly, Farid Stevy from FSTVLST and Ale Husein from The Adams appeared not on stage, but in the middle of the crowd of spectators filling the area.

It was not a concert they started, but an open discussion forum. Farid Stevy took the microphone first and immediately revealed what had happened behind the scenes during the tumultuous last 24 hours after learning that PT Freeport Indonesia was also sponsoring the Pestapora 2025 event.

In front of the audience, Farid Stevy also laid bare the struggles of the musicians who managed to pressure the organizers to take a stand. He emphasized that this decision was not trivial.

"They heard all of us, they made a decision as we urged, to kick Freeport out of Pestapora! And they did it. "It's not an ordinary decision like when you break up with your partner," said Farid Stevy.

"It's not like you all decided to come here; it's not an ordinary decision. The skill level, the level is already at a prison level, all of you friends. So please, respect the decision of Pestapora, Boss Creator, to kick Freeport out of the event," he added.

He also explained why FSTVLST chose not to withdraw. According to him, the decision to remain present was the result of long discussions among musicians aimed at finding the best solution, not just leaving the arena.

"We were pressured very hard by our friends, by our environment, by people who do not know us to withdraw from Pestapora. We did not do it. Why? Because overnight, the musician friends discussed. We are trying to find a solution to this," he said.

"We gathered at In-House, hosted by Mbak Endah. Let's give a round of applause for Mbak Endah and Mas Rhesa at In-House. Together with Iga Massardi, along with friends from Hindia, Feast, and other friends who are still present, we urged Pestapora to kick Freeport off their platform, and that happened," he continued.

On that occasion, Ale Husein from The Adams added that their decision to remain at Pestapora was for the audience who had already come and became victims of the situation.

"Pestapora is a place to voice opinions. Yes, let's highlight that word first. That's why we take this moment for friends to also voice their opinions, but I will also speak as The Adams and represent FSTVLST, that actually we came here, we have returned our administrative obligations to Pestapora. Yes, we returned our fee, and everything else. Even if there will be a penalty, we will bear that penalty as well, of course," said Ale.

After the emotional discussion session, both of them finally picked up an acoustic guitar. In the midst of a sea of people, they sang a few songs, including "Tanah Indah" by FSTVLST and "Masa-Masa" by The Adams.
