Kapanlagi.com - The band group called Voice of Baceprot (VoB) may still sound unfamiliar to mainstream music lovers. This band from Garut, West Java, carries the rock/metal genre and is led by three young girls named Firdda Marsya Kurnia (vocals and guitar), Widi Rahmawati (bass), and Euis Siti Aisyah (drums), all of whom always perform wearing hijabs.
Not just an ordinary band, VoB already has a hit single titled School of Revolution that has received positive responses from music lovers and musicians. In fact, in Wacken Open Air 2022, Marsya CS will perform alongside world metal bands such as Slipknot, Judas Priest, Rammstein's Till Lindemann and many others.
In an online interview with KapanLagi.com on Friday (23/07), VoB revealed that initially they were only given a small space for practice. Interestingly, the room was filled with used items from their school's marching band practice.
"Yes, we were given a small room for practice, it's not too big, it's elongated. Then it's filled with equipment and items that are no longer needed at school, like old cables. We practiced there until high school because we didn't have a studio. At first, we used things like drums from the marching band, because there were no real drums at school," said Marsya, who is the vocalist and guitarist of VoB.
After the intensity of their practice increased, they took the initiative to propose to the school principal to provide them with more suitable instruments. Their proposal was eventually accepted by the school authorities.
"Only after we practiced regularly and proposed to the school principal that we had a performance for graduation and needed proper musical instruments, the school finally agreed," added Marsya.
Yes, so 5 days before the farewell, the equipment was bought," he said.

When asked about their most memorable gig experience, Siti, the drummer, revealed that they had performed in Jogja and Bali. According to her, VoB had a positive experience from the audience in both events.
"The most memorable gig experience was when we performed at the Ubud Festival in Bali and Jogja. Those two events were beyond our expectations but in a good way. We thought that performing at non-music events would result in a stiff audience. However, the events were amazing and we received very positive feedback," said Sitti.
2. Focus on the Music World First

It is known that the three band members have recently graduated from high school. Apparently, for now, they prefer to focus on the music world first. Marysa believes that learning can be done anywhere. Lastly, she added that her family is not pressuring her regarding her future plans.
"Right now, we prefer to focus on music first. As for education, we have spent around 12 years on it. So, we want to breathe freely for a while. Also, we don't want to limit our perspective on education to just classrooms and campus buildings. For us, learning academic things can be done outside of school. And now, technology has advanced, so we can access the media," said Marsya.
"Our family doesn't pressure us because we already have our own income, so before using it for college, it's better to use it to help the family's economy," she concluded.
