Wanting to Make People Happy, Rian D'Masiv and Angga Maliq Collaborate in Culinary Business

They have opened a culinary business named Maison La Formule, a restaurant that offers an all-day brunch concept in Jakarta.

This collaboration began from a family relationship. Rian's wife, Sri Ayu Murtisari, is the sister of Angga's wife, Dewi Andarini. From this closeness, they discovered a shared interest in the culinary world and eventually agreed to build a business together.

Angga admitted that he has long been interested in the culinary world, especially brunch food and coffee. He wants to have his own business in this field.

"We at Maliq and Rian at D'Masiv, if we look at it, there are many business derivatives that have already been done. It's not just about music. Well, F&B is one of the developments of our business aspirations," Angga said at Maison La Formule in Hang Tuah, South Jakarta, Wednesday (22/1/2025).

For Rian, even though he is not a coffee drinker, he still wants to create a comfortable place to gather.

"We like to hang out, we like to drink coffee too. So it seems that because we started this business with passion, with our interests. So we hope our business at Maison La Formule can run well and be beneficial," he said.

1. Started Since the Pandemic

Maison La Formule is not a business that appeared suddenly. Initially, this business started during the COVID-19 pandemic with a brownie product named La Formule. Over time, this venture has grown to have its own central kitchen.

The name "Maison La Formule" means "House of La Formule," symbolizing a place with the concept of the formula for happiness. This restaurant offers all-day brunch, presenting a variety of food and drink options that can be enjoyed at any time.

According to Prasastyo from the management of Maison La Formule, this place is not just a restaurant, but also suitable for various activities.

"This place can be a choice for various activities, from working, meetings, to enjoying leisure time with friends or family," said Tyo.

As a form of commitment to customer comfort, Maison La Formule also ensures that all dishes served are halal, so visitors can enjoy their meals with peace of mind. Maison La Formule offers a range of dishes from appetizers to desserts. One of the standout menu items that catches attention is the Candied Croissant Truffle Chicken.

"Flat croissant cooked with maple and butter, served with chicken coated in truffle paste, creates a satisfying blend of sweet, salty, and savory flavors," explained Tyo.

Although operating in the culinary business, the touch of the music world is still felt at Maison La Formule. Rian and Angga want to create an atmosphere that is close to their character as musicians.

"Because the friends here are not musicians, so from the musicians, they want to know what can be an added value for this place," said Rian.

3. Interesting Vibes

He also added that in this restaurant there are decorative elements that reflect their background in the music world.

"There are vinyl records, maybe if we weren't here, it might not exist. But because we are here, we add touches like this that also belong to musicians," he said.

Not only decoration, Maison La Formule also serves as a place for musicians to gather and share inspiration. For Rian and Angga, Maison La Formule is not just a business, but a place that can bring happiness to customers.

"So we want to make people happy when they come here," said Rian.
