Kapanlagi.com - The Malang Police succeeded in uncovering a series of vandalism incidents targeting several police posts in Malang Regency early on Sunday (31/8/2025). A total of 13 youths were arrested during the operation.
Among those arrested, some of the perpetrators were still students. This arrest marks a firm action by authorities to maintain security and public order.

The action began around 03:00 WIB when a group of people riding about 20 motorcycles vandalized the Kebonagung Police Post. Not stopping there, the group moved south and threw paving stones at the Pakisaji Police Station.
As a result, several facilities were damaged. Officers on standby immediately pursued.

One suspected perpetrator with the initials SDA (22), a resident of Tajinan District, Malang Regency, was successfully secured at the location. Two other suspected perpetrators, MRAT (19), a student from Bululawang, and FPA (15), a resident of Wagir District, were also apprehended while vandalizing the police post in the Kepanjen area.
"The Criminal Investigation Team acted quickly to develop the arrests and successfully secured 10 other youths from various regions. Some are from Malang Regency, while others are from Pasuruan Regency," explained AKBP Danang Setiyo P.S., the Malang Police Chief, on Monday (1/9/2025).

The suspected perpetrators come from various backgrounds ranging from students, college students, to private workers. They are mostly aged 15–22 years old.
"From the initial examination, the majority of the suspected perpetrators reside in the districts of Tajinan, Bululawang, Wagir, Pakisaji, and Kepanjen, Malang Regency. However, some have also been identified as coming from the Pasuruan Regency area," he added.

Cries erupted when 13 suspected perpetrators of the vandalism at the Police Post and Police Station were reunited with their families. The parents tightly embraced their children, with some unable to hold back tears upon seeing their child caught up in legal issues due to anarchic actions.
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Malang Police, AKP Muchammad Nur, explained that the meeting between the children and their parents was intentionally facilitated to make them understand the consequences of their destructive actions. Thus, a shared awareness must be built, that such actions not only harm state facilities but also injure the sense of security in the community.

The seized evidence includes clothing worn during the action, motorcycles, mobile phones, screwdrivers, gloves, and paving stones used to damage police posts.

The Malang Police Chief emphasized that the destruction of police facilities is a serious criminal offense. The perpetrators are charged under Article 170 of the Penal Code regarding collective violence against property.
"We will not tolerate anarchic actions. The legal process will proceed professionally and transparently. For other perpetrators who are still at large, we urge them to surrender immediately," he asserted.

The police chief urged the community, especially the youth, to express their aspirations in an orderly manner. He believes that synergy with the community is key to creating a sustainable conducive atmosphere.
"Feel free to express your opinions, but do not do so destructively. The police are always open to communication, but anarchic actions will be dealt with firmly," he concluded.
