Already Booking Tickets, Bromo Tourists Asked to Reschedule Visiting Time Due to Corona

Kapanlagi.com - Corona Pandemic also affects several tourist attractions, one of which is Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS). Because of that, the management asks visitors who have already booked tickets online to reschedule their schedule.

As is already known, the TNBTS area has been closed from 19-31 March 2020. Not only that, several attractions in the Malang area and its surroundings also follow the central government's policy to temporarily close due to the escalating Corona outbreak.

"Indeed, our standard operating procedure does not include refunds, because it goes directly to the state treasury. Because this is a force majeure situation beyond our prediction, we provide discretion. They can reschedule, outside the closing period," said Syarief Hidayat, Public Relations of TNBTS, on Tuesday (24/3).

"We give discretion by rescheduling, if they have planned a visit during the closing period from 19-31, they can reschedule it for a date outside that period," he added.

1. How Many People Have Booked Online?

According to Syarief, not many tourists have already booked tickets because it was anticipated beforehand. Once the closure was announced, the online ticket booking facility was immediately deactivated.

"Only a few, around 9 people booked on the closing date. Because the policy has been issued, online booking is immediately closed, we deactivate it," he explained.

Syarief also stated that discussions will be held regarding the closing time, which ends on March 31. Coordination will be done considering the developments related to handling Covid-19 cases.

"Maybe this week, before the closure, we will discuss, evaluate, and also observe the developments. We will discuss it later, we cannot decide yet," he emphasized.

2. No One Dares to Travel

Officers are placed alternately at the entrance gates from four districts, namely Malang, Pasuruan, Probolinggo, and Lumajang, who also provide explanations. Until the 4th day of the closure, there have been no reports from officers in the field regarding significant incidents.

"In principle, they understand and appreciate the policy that has been taken," he said.
