As the Chair of PERBATI, Ray Zulham is Determined to Bring Indonesian Boxers to Succeed at the SEA Games

Kapanlagi.com - Full support for the development of boxing in Indonesia is assured to be provided by the Chairman of the Indonesian Boxing Federation, Ray Zulham Farras. He has also prepared several strategies to assist local boxers in competing and achieving success even on the international stage.

"Because it is the duty of the management to produce as many successful athletes and medals for the homeland," said Ray at the Indonesian Boxing Community Gathering 2025 with PERBATI in Jakarta, Saturday (3/5/2025).

He explained that to realize this, he and the PERBATI management team have prepared several holistic strategies and programs. Their nearest target is to succeed at the SEA Games.

"The target in the short term is for international competitions, specifically the SEA Games. So our focus is international, with the SEA Games this year, the ASEAN Games next year, and the Olympics in 2028. These are the stages we will go through, and we ask for your prayers as well," he explained.

Regarding the strategies and programs, Ray explained that it will begin with a national selection that will be followed by intensive training.

"In the near future, possibly before June, there will be a National Selection (Seleknas). We will select the athletes who will compete there later. After the selection, a training curriculum will be prepared," he revealed.

He added that they are also bringing in an international coach from Thailand to provide training for the athletes. Even so, he will still involve local coaches.

"Earlier, there was an international coach introduced. For the preparation for the Sea Games, he (the coach) will start training in maybe the next 2 weeks. It has started here; we have also signed a contract with him to assist our coaches here. So, there will be local coaches as well. There will be one international head coach. Later, we will have our own coach to accompany him," he revealed.

He hopes that the athletes can maximize their learning from the coaches so they can achieve the best results in every event they participate in.

"With the hope that we can gain broader lessons and our boxing world will continue to develop," he concluded.
