Collection of Prayers and Remembrance, Good Deeds in the Month of Ramadan

1. Iftar Prayer

The iftar prayer is recited immediately after breaking the fast, as done by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The iftar prayer is as follows:

Allahumma laka shumtu wabika amantu wa 'ala rizqika afthartu birahmatika yaa arhamar rahimin

Meaning: O Allah, for You I have fasted, in You I believe, to You I submit, and with Your sustenance I break my fast, by Your mercy, O Allah, the Most Merciful.

2. Prayer After Tarawih Prayer

This prayer is always recited between two Tarawih prayers, and after Tarawih prayer before Witr prayer. Usually, this prayer is recited together by the congregation in the mosque led by the imam or someone in the front row.

Asyhadu alla ilaha illallah, Astaghfirullah, as alukal jannata wa a'udzubika minan naar, Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu anni (3X)

Meaning: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah, I ask for Paradise from You and seek refuge in You from the torment of Hell, O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving who loves forgiveness, forgive me.

3. Prayer After Witr Prayer

This prayer after the Witr prayer is a prayer in the month of fasting that is recited together with the entire congregation. The prayer after Witr is performed after the final tahiyat of the Witr prayer.

Subhanal malikil qudduus (3x), Subbuhun quddusun rabbunaa wa rabbul malaa-ikati warruuh, Allahumma inni a'udzu bi ridhaoka min sakhotik wa bi mu'afaatika min'uqubatik, wa a'udzu bika minka laa uh-shi tsanaa-an 'alaik, anta kamaa atsnaita 'ala nafsik

Meaning: You are the Most Holy, the Most Sovereign, and the Most Holy from any shortcomings. You are the Most Holy and the Most Holy, our Lord, the Lord of the angels, and the angel Gabriel. O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your anger, and in Your protection from Your punishment, and I seek refuge in You from Your wrath. I am unable to count the praise and adoration to You, You are as You praise Yourself.

4. Prayer on the Night of Lailatul Qadar

The speciality of the month of Ramadan that is not found in other months is the night of Lailatul Qadar. Lailatul Qadar is described in the Quran as a night better than a thousand months, and it is also commemorated as the night when the Quran was revealed.To welcome the night of Lailatul Qadar, it is recommended to pray and remember Allah abundantly.

In a hadith from Aisha, she asked, 'Tell me, O Messenger of Allah, what should I say if I know that a night is Lailatul Qadar?' He replied, Say:

Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu anni

O Allah, You are indeed the Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.' (Narrated by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah)

5. Remembrance When Seeing the Crescent

The Prophet sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam, when he saw the crescent, he recited:

Allahumma ahillahu 'alayna bilyumni wal iimaani was salaamati wal islaami. Robbii wa Robbukallah.

Meaning: O Allah, show us the moon with blessings and faith, peace and Islam. My Lord and your Lord (O crescent moon) is Allah. (HR. Ahmad, Tirmidhi, and Ad Darimi).

6. Remembrance (Dhikr) during the Night of Qadr

From Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, she said, "Tell me, O Messenger of Allah, what is your opinion if I know that a night is the Night of Qadr. What should I say in it?" He answered:

'Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu anni'

Meaning: O Allah, indeed You are the Most Forgiving, You love forgiveness, so forgive me. (HR. Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah. Sheikh Al Albani said that this hadith is authentic)
