Dutch Business Network Gathers Sustainable Entrepreneurs in Bali on June 21, 2024, Will Provide Many Benefits

Kapanlagi.com - The member-based non-profit organization, Dutch Business Network (DBN), will hold a presentation and panel discussion that brings together entrepreneurs from the Netherlands, Belgium, Indonesia, and around the world, in social and sustainable entrepreneurship, on Friday, June 21, 2024.

The founder and coordinator of Greenternships, Maria Bianca Vega, said that 15-20 entrepreneurs have registered to attend the discussion entitled Sustainable luxury: Discovering the journey, best practices, and future prospects at the Heveya showroom located in Berawa, Canggu, Bali.

Greenternships, based in Bali, is an internship intermediary agency that supports students from around the world in finding unpaid work experiences in Bali and other regions. Candidates can explore various companies and organizations, especially those committed to sustainability, and contribute to the local community throughout Southeast Asia.

Bianca, who is also a member of the DBN Bali Council, revealed that sustainable business is quite popular and in demand among entrepreneurs in Bali at present.

"Our network is interested in the aspect of sustainability, how we can produce quality products and services without sacrificing the environment, and even contribute to the Regenerative ecosystem," Bianca said as quoted from Liputan6.com (20/6/2024).

"The implementation of ESG principles, which focus on sustainability, provides many benefits not only in terms of operations by saving direct costs (such as reducing single-use packaging), but also brings long-term advantages in the value chain," she explained.

Business owners are also encouraged to think holistically, starting from ensuring the supply of raw materials, to the safety and well-being of producers and end users, she continued.

"There is a growing understanding that loyal customers are those who identify the values of our brand, which include environmental awareness and concern for well-being," said Bianca.

"We want to inspire entrepreneurs and more people to start making small adjustments and changes to their products and services, and to pass on their legacy (to future generations). This is the right time to get involved in improving the business network in Bali that supports development towards a positive direction," added Bianca, who is also accompanied by other board members Terence Ridder and Elvira Wijsen at DBN Bali.

In the DBN Bali panel discussion at the Heveya Berawa showroom, three speakers will be present, consisting of the founders of Heveya, Kayu Surfboards, and Syrco BASÈ.

Syrco BASÈ, is a restaurant founded by a two Michelin-starred chef from the Netherlands, Syrco Bakker. In running his high-class culinary business, Bakker applies the principles of traceability, nature, and transparency in his new concept.

Participated by Kayu Surfboards, a business founded by Frank Oosterbeek that produces wooden balsa surfboards, applying environmentally friendly practices and serving as an alternative to high fiberglass materials and other non-organic materials.

Meanwhile, Heveya, founded by Stefan Magnus, produces luxurious mattresses and bed sheets from environmentally friendly sources.
