1. Definition of Ulul Azmi Prophets

"And [mention, O Muhammad], when We took from the prophets their covenant and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, the son of Mary; and We took from them a solemn covenant." (Q.S. Al-Ahzab, verse 7).

Prophet Ibrahim AS is known as ulul azmi, the second prophet with that title. Besides being known as ulul azmi, Prophet Ibrahim is also known as the father of the prophets. Ibrahim is the prophet who built the Ka'bah in Mecca, which is used as the qibla for Muslims until today.

Just like Prophet Nuh, Prophet Ibrahim was very determined in teaching Islam. Prophet Ibrahim fought against his people who worshipped idols at that time. Prophet Musa AS is also known for his extraordinary patience. Therefore, Prophet Musa AS is also known as ulul azmi. Prophet Musa lived in the time of Pharaoh who was worshipped like a god. With determination, Prophet Musa AS conveyed his teachings and invited his people to worship Allah SWT.

In his struggle during his lifetime, Prophet Musa AS is known for a great miracle, which is a staff that can turn into a snake when challenged by Pharaoh's magicians. With that staff, Prophet Musa AS was also given strength by Allah SWT, so he was able to part the Red Sea for Prophet Musa AS and his followers to cross.

5. The Story of Prophet Isa AS

The next ulul azmi prophet is Prophet Isa AS. Prophet Isa AS is the only prophet who was born without a father figure. The mother of Prophet Isa AS, Siti Maryam, by the power of Allah SWT, conceived Prophet Isa AS without any relationship with any man. Therefore, Siti Maryam was accused by the Jews. But thanks to the miracles from Allah SWT, Prophet Isa AS, who was still in the womb, was able to testify.

Prophet Isa AS earned the title ulul azmi because he was very patient and steadfast in spreading the teachings of Islam. In his struggle, Prophet Isa AS was then accused by the Jews. Until the point where his disciples betrayed him and were about to be killed by the Romans. However, Prophet Isa AS still prayed for them to be guided by Allah SWT.
