Gus Sholah, Gus Dur's Brother, Passes Away, Condition Continues to Decline for Two Weeks

Kapanlagi.com - Sad news comes from the preaching world in Indonesia. Salahuddin Wahid, the caretaker of Tebu Ireng Islamic Boarding School in Jombang, East Java, or commonly known as Gus Sholah, is reported to have passed away today, Sunday (2/2), at the age of 77.

This sad news was directly conveyed by Gus Sholah's son, Irfan Wahid, through his personal Twitter account. He apologized for all the mistakes that the late Gus Sholah had made during his lifetime.

"Gus Sholah has just passed away, at 20:55. Please forgive all his mistakes. Allahummaghfirlahu warhamhu wa’afihi wa’fuanhu...," wrote Irfan Wahid, Gus Sholah's son, on his Twitter account, Sunday (2/2/2020).

1. Drop Condition for Two Weeks

Quoting from Liputan6.com, Gus Sholah's son, Irfan Wahid, or commonly known as Ipang, said that his father's condition had dropped for the past two weeks.

He stated that at that time, Gus Sholah had a heart attack. "There was a complaint of irregular heart rhythm," said Irfan as quoted from Liputan6.com.

2. After the Operation, He Went Home

After dropping due to heart problems, Gus Sholah had to undergo ablation or surgery for irregular heart rhythm using a catheter inserted into the heart.

"Ablation, a kind of catheter, was performed to isolate electromagnetic interference," said Irfan.

3. He Went Home Before Dropping

Irfan also mentioned that his father, Gus Sholah, was brought home after undergoing ablation or heart surgery. However, unfortunately, despite the successful operation, the condition of Gus Dur's younger brother has been deteriorating for the past two weeks.

"Alhamdulillah, it was successful. He returned home a few days later feeling weak," said Irfan.

"Last Friday, Father dropped significantly. He is still in the hospital until now," he added.
