The first surprise is that Jakarta Aquarium & Safari will change its name to JAQS. According to Fira Basuki, Head of Social, Branding, and Communication, the change of name is because Jakarta Aquarium & Safari or JAQS is a safe and comfortable tourist destination.
"This is to emphasize that Jakarta Aquarium & Safari or JAQS is a safe and comfortable tourist destination that is not only about aquatic animals, because in fact there are more than 3000 species of aquatic and non-aquatic animals here. It also represents a tourist destination in the middle of Jakarta, inside a mall, which is easily accessible but offers many exciting experiences," said Fira Basuki.
In addition to changing the name, the logo of Jakarta Aquarium & Safari, which is already known by the public, will also be changed. The previous Shark logo will be added with a Turtle and a Serval, symbolizing 'safari' in the middle of the city.
In addition to changing its name, Jakarta Aquarium & Safari will have the largest indoor aquarium in Indonesia with a background of a Christmas Tree or recycled Christmas Tree made from a series of PVC pipes.
"Jakarta Aquarium Safari cares about animals and the environment. We ensure that what goes underwater is safe and comfortable for aquatic animals, but also does not damage the environment. In previous years, we made a Christmas Tree from glass bottles, this time we chose waste pipes and PVC sheets that are arranged into this unusual Christmas Tree," said Fira.

To complement this recycled Christmas Tree, there will be Santa underwater, which is a row of mermaids, or free divers who can dive in the water without equipment for approximately 5 minutes without any tools (normal people usually only last an average of 15 seconds).
Another excitement is the appearance of several singers during the end of the year with the main aquarium as the background, one of the singers is Josh Kunze.
"In my opinion, the end of the year is the right time for rebranding. I like the name Jakarta Aquarium & Safari, which sounds exciting with various adventures. I am very happy to be able to sing here and contribute to the spirit of hope, as a safe and comfortable recreational place for the community in this conservation institution!", said Josh Kunze.
The next new thing is the Leaning House, which will provide entertainment at Jakarta Aquarium & Safari. The Leaning House is an attraction and a fun thing that will be enjoyed by visitors.
Not only is there entertainment, but at JAQS there is also a romantic place for couples with a 'live' view of turtles, stingrays, and even sharks, for a romantic dinner with your partner. Even young couples Atta Halilintar and Aurel Hermansyah, as well as Dinda Hauw and Rey Mbayang, have enjoyed it.
Of course, year-end vacations must always adhere to health protocols. "Jakarta Aquarium & Safari (JAQS) ensures the safety and comfort of visitors. All employees are confirmed to be negative for Covid-19 after swab tests. And we conduct tests regularly. To maintain hygiene, we disinfect all areas, provide sinks and hand sanitizers at many points on the premises, and of course, we are very strict in maintaining visitor distance. We ensure that visitors come in a fit and healthy condition, their body temperature is checked, they always wear masks, and their hands are always clean. The safety, health, and comfort of visitors are our priorities," said Fira.
During the year-end, JAQS will operate from Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. On Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Except from December 24-27, 2020, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Sunday. Tickets start from Rp. 150,000,-.
