Kolak is one of the most popular iftar desserts in Indonesia. Its sweet and savory taste is perfect for breaking the fast. Kolak comes in many variations, depending on the main ingredients used. One of them is kolak singkong (sweet cassava dessert). Not only delicious, but kolak singkong is also guaranteed to be filling. Here's the recipe for making kolak singkong.
Ingredients:
- 700 ml water
- 200 gr cassava
- 1 pack of coconut milk
- 1 pandan leaf
- 1 gr palm sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- Cinnamon as needed
- 200 ml coconut milk
Instructions:
1) Peel and clean the cassava, then cut it into desired sizes.
2) Boil water.
3) While waiting for the water to boil, you can cut or grate the palm sugar. This is to make it melt faster when boiled.
4) Once the water is hot, add the chopped palm sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cook until the sugar dissolves and blends.
5) Then, add the cut cassava. Cook until the cassava is tender or cooked.
6) Add 200 ml of coconut milk.

Ingredients:
- 500 gr Cassava
- 2 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tsp salt

- 250 ml water
- 120 ml thick coconut milk (I use kara)
- 6 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- 6 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Cornstarch to thicken
Instructions:
1) Boil water.
2) While waiting for the water to boil, peel and clean the cassava. Then, cut it into small pieces according to your preference.
3) After that, boil the cassava with vanilla, sugar, and salt. Cook until the cassava is cooked or tender.
4) Boil water to make the sauce.
5) Add coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla to the boiling water. If the taste is already right, thicken the sauce with cornstarch.
6) Adjust the taste of the sauce.
7) Once the cassava and sauce are cooked, pour the sauce over the cassava and serve.

- 5 cloves of garlic
- 6 cloves of shallots
- 5 curly red chilies

Cooking instructions:

7) Shape the mixture into croquettes, then fill them with papaya.
