Calvin created the name Piting Kerang because he wanted it to be easily remembered by the public. So he took the names from crab and shellfish.

"Since we sell seafood, let's take a simple name from crab and shellfish, and then shorten it to Piting Kerang," said Calvin.

2. Signature Menu

Piting Kerang offers a variety of menus, including the Family Package consisting of rice, crab, shellfish, shrimp, and sweet corn. There are also other package menus and hampers.

Piting Kerang also provides various sauces, including sweet and sour sauce, Padang sauce, and Singapore sauce.

3. Challenges Faced

Since starting the business in 2019, Calvin admitted that the challenges faced were the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. He also started this business from scratch, so it took time for his business name to be known to the public.

"Because of the pandemic, there were PSBB and PPKM, which required us to only sell online and take away," said Calvin.

4. Hopes and Plans

Calvin's hope for this business is to change people's mindset that not all seafood is expensive. And also wants Piting Kerang to be known by people throughout Indonesia.

"For future plans, I want to open branches, if possible, outside the city or even outside the island," he explained.
