Aishah Prastowo is a first-generation LPDP scholarship awardee (PK-6) who successfully completed her PhD in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. She decided to pursue a PhD in England at a young age of 23.

Although she initially planned to become a researcher, Aishah is now a high school teacher and the principal of SMA Praxis in Sleman. She serves as an inspiring example for many young people in the country.

Aishah has a remarkable academic background. To become a teacher, generally, a bachelor's degree in education is sufficient.

"However, this teacher and principal of SMA Praxis holds a PhD in Engineering Science from one of the best universities in the world, the University of Oxford @oxford_uni, England," wrote the official IG account @lpdp_ri on Friday (26/6).

During an interview with the LPDP team, Aishah shared that during the COVID-19 pandemic, teaching became a significant opportunity.

Starting from participating in online classes and research mentoring. Now, Aishah is confidently diving into establishing an alternative school in the corner of Ngemplak, Sleman, named SMA Praxis @smapraxis, with a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) based curriculum.

"Maybe in my opinion, sometimes humans can plan, but what we face in the future sometimes does not align with what we had planned before," explained Aishah.

"I learned or studied abroad many new things that I could gain and now I share this with the students here as well," she continued.

Aishah also gave a message to many people, to not be afraid or feel inferior, and not to feel down. "If it feels like you haven't made a big impact, in fact, these small impacts can be more beneficial for the people around us," said Aishah.
