Prevent Corona, Jatim Park 3 Tourist Attraction in Batu City Sprayed with Disinfectant

Kapanlagi.com - Tourist attractions in Batu City are taking precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the Corona virus. The management of Jatim Park 3 tourist attraction is spraying the tourist location with disinfectant.

The spraying is done before the visitors arrive or before the ticket booth opens at 10.00 AM. Officers spray disinfectant liquid to the corners of stairs, ticket booths, and entrance gates.

"This (disinfectant spraying) is one of the suggestions from the government that we have started to implement. We have also started checking body temperature and providing hand sanitizer to every visitor of Jatim Park Group since last week," said Titik S. Ariyanto, Marketing and Public Relations Manager of Jatim Park Group at Jatim Park 3.

Titik said that the spraying is one of the preventive measures as well as implementing the suggestions and recommendations from the government to make the tourist area cleaner and the visitors more comfortable.

1. Do it for Two Weeks

Spraying is done for two consecutive weeks before evaluation is conducted. The follow-up of spraying depends on the development and general impact.

"Nationally, if the public needs more attention, then we have to extend it," he emphasized.

In addition, the addition of sinks is also carried out in many areas. Toilet users and bathroom users are also provided with handwashing facilities equipped with soap.

2. Visitors Must Check Body Temperature

Visitors who come to Jatim Park 3 tourist attraction are required to undergo a body temperature check process and are given hand sanitizer at the entrance. Thermal guns are provided at each ride entrance. Officers will place the thermal gun on visitors' foreheads to detect their temperature before allowing them to enter the ride.

"Until now, alhamdulillah (thank God), we have never had any visitors with body temperature exceeding normal. We have also prepared and briefed all managers in the area, so if there is any case, they will be immediately taken to the nearest hospital with the available ambulance.

Titik said that no visitors feel disturbed by the implementation of these provisions. Instead, they appreciate it because there are facilities that anticipate public concerns.

"We want to educate them so that they feel comfortable before entering our rides. Psychologically, once they enter, they can see preventive measures taken by the tourism operators, and they will feel more comfortable," he explained.

3. Provide Dozens of Hand Sanitizers

A similar condition can also be seen at Selecta Batu Amusement Park, which provides dozens of hand sanitizers in various corners of the tourist location. The installation was done about a week ago, in order to provide convenience for tourists to clean their hands.

"We installed hand sanitizers in all places, corners of the location," said Sujud Hariadi, Director of Hotel and Selecta Batu Amusement Park.

Meanwhile, both Titik and Sujud confirmed the decrease in the number of tourists to Batu after the spread of the corona virus. The impact is believed to be more noticeable in the near future.

"There will definitely be an impact, but it hasn't shown a drastic decrease yet. Maybe in two weeks, the decrease will be more noticeable. These past few days, I have observed that on weekdays from Monday to Thursday, there are still many bus groups coming, but on weekends, there is a decrease in the number of family guests," he explained.

4. City of Batu Decreases by 20 Percent

Sujud, who is also the Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of Batu City, predicts a decrease in the range of 20 percent to 30 percent. Tourists who are currently on vacation, especially out-of-town bus groups, are possible because they have been planned far in advance.

"Some people have started to avoid crowds," he said.
