Jakarta-Bandung commuters will soon have an alternative transportation service. The two major cities are planned to be connected by the High-Speed Train which promises comfort and speed. According to Mirza Soraya, GM Corporate Secretary of PT KCIC (Indonesia-China High-Speed Train), they estimate that this service can be enjoyed by the public by the end of 2022.

For ticket prices, according to Mirza, it is still being discussed internally as it needs to be adjusted to many things. Good news, the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train is equipped with facilities for people with disabilities in accordance with applicable laws.

The services for people with disabilities provided at the station include lifts, guiding blocks, special toilets, and vending machines for booking tickets specifically for people with disabilities. Not only that, there are also special compartments for people with disabilities in the train carriage.

For travel facilities, PT KCIC provides priority seats equipped with instructional and educational stickers. At least four seats are designated as priority seats in one train set.

Until now, the newly built route is Jakarta-Bandung. President Jokowi hopes that the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train project can be expanded to Surabaya.
