Reduced 2021 Holiday! The Government Determines Only 2 Days

This agreement is written in the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower, the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Number 281 Year 2021, Number 1 Year 2021, Number 1 Year 2021 concerning Amendments to the Joint Ministerial Decree of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower, the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Number 642 Year 2020, Number 4 Year 2020, Number 4 Year 2020 Regarding National Holidays and Collective Leave in 2021.

The SKB was made through a Ministerial Level Coordination Meeting to Review the SKB for Collective Leave in 2021. In the letter, the previously 7-day holiday was reduced to 2 days.

1. Cut 5 Days

Considering that the curve of Covid-19 cases continues to rise, the government has cut 5 out of the previously established 7 holidays. The revised public holidays for 2021 are as follows, as reported by Kumparan.

• Joint Leave for the Ascension of Prophet Muhammad
• May 17, 18, 19: Joint Leave for Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri
• December 27: Joint Leave for Christmas 2021.

2. Two Holidays in 2021

Meanwhile, the preserved joint leaves are May 12 for Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri, and December 24 for Christmas 2021. There will also be an additional day before Eid al-Fitr and one day before Christmas to facilitate the Indonesian National Police in managing public movements.
