SCTV Anniversary Gift: YPP Opens Safe Access with the 35th ASA Bridge in Tarutung

The Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation (YPP) SCTV-Indosiar inaugurated the 35th SCTV ASA Bridge in Parbaju Toruan Village, Tarutung District, North Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, on Friday, July 31, 2026. This moment coincides with the celebration of SCTV's 36th Anniversary and features a new 120-meter suspension bridge.

Joy and emotion enveloped the local residents. Until now, limited access has been the main obstacle to activities, especially when river flows are high. With the new infrastructure, the connecting route between regions is now safer and shorter.

“The construction of the SCTV ASA Bridge in Tarutung was made possible thanks to the kindness, spirit of cooperation, and mutual assistance of the entire Indonesian community and loyal SCTV viewers through YPP, in collaboration with the Indonesian Village Volunteer Foundation (YRKI),” said the YPP representatives during the event.

1. Impact on the Mobility of Parbaju Toruan Residents

Before the bridge was completed, residents often took risks crossing the river during low water. When floods came, the only option available was to detour 7 kilometers to reach their daily destinations.

The existence of this 120-meter suspension bridge shortens travel distance while reducing potential dangers. Children can travel to school more safely and efficiently, without having to wait for favorable river conditions.

For residents engaged in farming and local businesses, access to the economic center is now quicker. The ease of reaching health facilities such as community health centers is also an important benefit of this connecting infrastructure.

2. Inauguration Ceremony: Collaboration of YPP, SCTV-Indosiar, and Local Government

The inauguration of the ASA SCTV Tarutung Bridge took place solemnly with a familial atmosphere. The ceremony was conducted by Imam Sudjarwo, the CSR Director of PT SCM Tbk and also the Chairman of YPP SCTV Indosiar.

The Regent of North Tapanuli, Dr. Jonius Taripar Parsaoran Hutabarat, S.Si., M.Si., was also present at the event. The presence of the local government emphasized the cross-party collaboration in strengthening public infrastructure services.

The Head of Parbaju Toruan Village, Henra Amit Hutabarat, along with local community leaders, also attended. Appreciation was expressed for the support of YPP and its partners, who have played a role in promoting equitable access for residents.

3. Food Assistance and an Invitation to Continue Caring

During the inauguration, YPP distributed 150 complete food packages containing basic necessities. This assistance is aimed at helping meet the kitchen needs of the local residents.

The construction of the 35th ASA Bridge is described as a manifestation of the ongoing concern from SCTV, Indosiar, and their viewers, to weave a better future for the marginalized areas.

In this activity, YPP also extended an invitation to the broader community to continue instilling care and channeling assistance through QRIS. The message conveyed emphasizes that every helping hand gives new meaning to those in need.
