Submit Pretrial Hearing, Legal Counsel Believes Pegi Setiawan Alias Perong is Innocent in the Vina Cirebon Murder Case

Kapanlagi.com - The murder case of a 16-year-old teenager from Cirebon named Vina, which went viral in 2016, caused a stir once again. This was because the story was adapted into a feature film titled Vina: Sebelum 7 Hari directed by Anggy Umbara.

Due to the extraordinary attention from the public, the authorities reopened the case. As a result, a man named Pegi Setiawan was arrested and became a suspect in the case.

However, Pegi's arrest sparked controversy among the public, as he claimed to be innocent and not involved in the case. Therefore, Nikolas Kilikily, the legal counsel for Pegi Setiawan, spoke up and took action, believing in his client's innocence.

"We have registered at the Bandung District Court, and after receiving the case number, we are grateful that we have also registered for the pretrial hearing scheduled for two weeks later," said Nikolas Kilikily when met in the Senopati area, South Jakarta, recently.

Nikolas also stated that they have prepared evidence and witnesses for the hearing. Based on the available witnesses and evidence, he believes that Pegi Setiawan is innocent.

"We have witnesses and evidence that we have prepared to present in court," he said.

"We are confident, one hundred percent, that our client is innocent based on the evidence we have," he added.
