Tourists' Car Plunges into Ravine on the Road to Bromo, 4 Passengers Dead

Kapanlagi.com - A car allegedly carrying a group of tourists plunged into a ravine on the Tourist Route to Mount Bromo. The accident occurred on Monday (13/05) around 18:30 WIB in the Coban Trisula Forest Area, Jarak Ijo Hamlet, Ngadas Village, Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency.

"Please give us some time, the initial information is correct," said AKP Adis Dani Garta, the Head of Traffic Unit of Malang Police in his message to journalists on Monday (13/05).

The location is within the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS). The road conditions along the route are quite steep with bends and ravines on the right and left.

1. Unsaved Victims

A car went into a deep ravine with some of its passengers not being saved. There were 4 casualties at the scene, consisting of children and adults.

The victims were evacuated to the nearest hospital and some were taken to hospitals in Malang City. As of the writing of this news, the process of evacuating the victims is still ongoing.

2. Car with 9 Passengers

Poncokusumo Subdistrict Head, Didik Agus Mulyono, in his statement, said that the car involved in the accident had license plate number B-1683-TJG. The type of vehicle is still unknown. The car was carrying 9 passengers.

"It cannot be identified yet because it fell into the ravine," he said firmly.

Several circulating photos also show the accident location in complete darkness without any lighting.

Meanwhile, an identification card belonging to one of the victims named Imriti Yasin Ali Rahbini, residing at Jl. Gunungsari Indah B16 Kedurus, Karang Pilang, Surabaya City, was found.
