Viral Action of a Volunteer Disposing Offerings on Mount Semeru, Lumajang Regent and Police Ready to Pursue the Perpetrator

Kapanlagi.com - Not long ago, social media was filled with a video showing an act called intolerance by an individual claiming to be a volunteer at Mount Semeru. In the video, which lasted about 30 seconds, a person wearing grey clothes and a black peci was seen making an offering at the location of Mount Semeru's eruption.

It is known that this act was carried out at the eruption site of Mount Semeru in Sumbersari Hamlet, Supiturang Village, Pronojiwo District, Lumajang Regency.

This act, which is considered to have hurt the beliefs of others, has apparently reached the ears of Lumajang Regent, Thoriqul Haq. The man, who is familiarly called Cak Thoriq, expressed his disappointment with this act.

1. Immediately Find the Perpetrator

Cak Thoriq asked the police to find out who the person behind the action was. He requested that the individual clarify their actions immediately. 

"I ask all friends, both officials and volunteers there to find out where that person is from, or who they are, which group they belong to. I ask for them to be found immediately, and I ask the perpetrator to clarify so that it does not disturb us who are currently in Lumajang peacefully," said Thoriqul Haq in his recent statement. 

2. There Must Be Education

In addition, Cak Thoriq will also provide education to the volunteers who are still working at the disaster site. He hopes that this education can make the volunteers and others appreciate and respect local wisdom. 

"There must be immediate steps to re-understand the purpose of all volunteers who come to Lumajang, which is the priority of humanitarian affairs. There are people affected by the disaster, volunteers come because of humanitarian affairs, not for other reasons," he said.

Quoted from detik.com, the Lumajang police are currently hunting down the perpetrator of the offering disposal. Lumajang Police Chief, AKBP Eka Yekti Hananto Seno, said that currently, the Lumajang Police have been searching up to the Lumajang-Malang border. 

"We are still searching in Lumajang, the border of Malang regency," said Lumajang Police Chief AKBP Eka Yekti Hananto Seno quoted from Detik.com, Tuesday (11/1/2022).

4. Already Have the Identity

Eka Yekti added that the Lumajang Police have obtained the identity of the perpetrator of the offering disposal. It is known that the perpetrator has the initials EH and is not a resident of Lumajang. 

"We are conducting a search in the area where the suspect resides, whom we suspect as the perpetrator of intolerance. We are still making efforts to find the perpetrator of the offering kicking, which can be concluded as an act of intolerance. According to the circulating video, the perpetrator has the initials HF," said Eka.

Previously, a viral video lasting 30 seconds showed a man wearing a vest, sarong, and a black peci standing next to offerings.

"This is what angers Allah. It is rarely realized that this is what actually invites the wrath of Allah, until Allah sends down His punishment. Allahu Akbar," said the man.

Shortly after uttering those words, the man then threw away two offerings located at the eruption site of Mount Semeru.
