1. Met Through an App

They actually met through a dating app. The man who turned out to be a woman claimed to be named Petrus Gilbert Arrafif. He also claimed to be a convert and looking for a wife.

"From there, he started chatting with me and getting to know me, after two weeks of knowing each other, he came to my house in Jambi intending to propose to me (note: he did not bring any identification)" said the victim, who is a woman.

2. Named Petrus Gilbert

Petrus Gilbert, who claimed to be a man, actually wanted to change his baptismal name before marrying the victim. So he wanted to change his name to Ahnaf Arrafif.

In front of the woman's family, Petrus Gilbert claimed to work as a doctor and a coal entrepreneur.

"My mother and I were introduced to his foster parents named Syafni via video call," said the victim.

3. Unofficial Marriage

On July 18, 2021, at 8:00 PM WIB, the woman had a secret marriage with Ahnaf Arrafif (the perpetrator). The witnesses were the woman's family members.

"The witnesses were only from the father's family side, as well as the judge's guardian and the imam's witness. Meanwhile, the perpetrator's side only had a video call before the marriage began," said the woman.

4. Feeling Brainwashed

After becoming husband and wife, the victim felt that her mind had been brainwashed because she was not aware that she had been deceived by Ahnaf Arrafif (the perpetrator).

"The perpetrator always asked for money on the pretext of his father's treatment, he also asked for money from my mother, until the losses reached more than 300 million," she said.

5. Reputation Destroyed

The woman also admitted that her reputation was destroyed, and her access to meet her friends was severely restricted. Many of Ahnaf Arrafif's promises were broken.

The perpetrator also committed malpractice against her when she was sick. The fact is that Ahnaf Arrafif is not a real doctor.

"Indeed, when the time for crime is up, it will be revealed," she said.
