Kimberly Ryder admitted that she is not interested in discussing a new partner after her divorce from Edward Akbar. She emphasized that currently, there is no man worthy of being called a stepfather to her two children.
However, the woman of Minang-English descent revealed that quite a few men have tried to approach her via direct messages. Unfortunately, their approaches often feel strange as they directly mention her children.
"There is no potential father. It feels really awkward to have a potential father. So many people are DMing me. I want to be the stepfather of your children," Kimberly said when met at the South Jakarta Police Station on Friday (11/7/2025).
Kimberly assessed that such intentions actually made her uncomfortable. She feels that not everyone can easily offer themselves to be a stepfather without having experience or understanding as a father.
"You aren't even a father yet. But you want to be a stepfather to children who aren't blood-related to you. That's really strange," she said.
When asked if she was more interested in men who are already fathers, Kimberly answered straightforwardly. She does not rule out the possibility of getting close to anyone, but remains selective about the intentions shown.
"Not really. The point is, approaching me doesn’t mean I want to be a stepfather to your children," she said.
