In the midst of celebrating the 3rd birthday of Don Azaiah Jan Verhaag, Jessica Iskandar and Vincent Verhaag expressed their gratitude for the warmth that has developed between Don and his two siblings. Even at just three years old, Don is said to have already shown great affection towards his brother and sister.

When met in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (7/5/2025), Jessica revealed that Don has been able to show concern for his siblings, even since the morning before his birthday celebration. "Don is very affectionate towards his brother and sister. He has been very excited since yesterday to celebrate his birthday, he was already lively early in the morning," Jessica said.

According to Jessica, Don often shows his loving and gentle side at home, especially when interacting with his siblings. This makes her even more confident that Don is growing up to be an empathetic child. "With his siblings, he really loves to play together, and he also likes to hug. Sometimes if someone is crying, he pays attention too," Jessica continued.

Vincent also added that the two of them intentionally built a warm and friendly home atmosphere so that the children would feel close to each other from a young age.

"We want them all to grow up loving each other. So from the beginning, we get them used to communicating and playing together to strengthen their bond," said Vincent.

Although they sometimes still fight over toys like typical children, Don is said to quickly soften and share when reminded. Jessica describes this as a sign that Don has a gentle heart.

"They are kids after all, sometimes still selfish. But Don is very quick to apologize or give the toy back when we say, 'let's take turns'," Jessica revealed.

According to Jessica, she and Vincent always instill the values of togetherness and love in parenting, including through everyday examples.

"We teach them from small things, like saying 'please', 'sorry', and 'thank you'. All of that is very important for them later," she said.

The close relationship between Don and his siblings is also evident in the warm birthday moments, where they joyfully celebrate together. "I’m so happy to see them getting along and having fun together. That’s the best gift for us as parents," Vincent concluded with a smile.
