The cries of sorrow still envelop the large family of the versatile musician, Gusti Irawan Wibowo, also known by the stage name Gustiwiw. After being prayed over at the Baitul Haq Mosque, Gustiwiw's body was finally buried at TPU Jati Sari, Bekasi, West Java, on Sunday (15/6/2025).

The funeral procession arrived at the burial site around 17:10 WIB. As soon as the coffin was lowered, several mourners immediately carried the body to the grave accompanied by the resonating chants of tasbih and tahmid that shook the atmosphere. Here are the details.

The atmosphere turned solemn when one of the family members descended into the grave and recited the call to prayer. The moments of the burial felt very emotional as the staff began to cover the grave with red soil.

The mother, who had tried to stay strong from the beginning, stood by the grave. Dressed entirely in black, she repeatedly wiped away tears that fell uncontrollably. The departure of her son seemed to be a heavy blow for her.

On the other hand, sobs were heard from one of the family members suspected to be Gustiwiw's sister. The father was seen comforting his daughter, who could not hold back her sadness. That moment made the burial atmosphere even more sorrowful.

As the flower scattering ceremony began, Gustiwiw's mother stepped forward. She embraced her son's tombstone, gently touching and kissing it in silence, as if she did not want to part. Her cries broke out again amidst the prayers being offered.

A prayer was led by a relative. After that, one by one, the mourners began to sprinkle flowers on the grave, closing the funeral procession that took place in a deeply emotional atmosphere.

Not only family, but several fellow artists and musician friends were present at the funeral. Names like Kunto Aji, Aci Resti, Nadine Amizah, Teddy Aditya, and several other musicians were seen accompanying Gustiwiw to his final resting place.

As is known, Gustiwiw passed away in Lembang, Bandung, after being reported to have fallen in the bathroom. He was known as a multi-talented figure as a musician, broadcaster, comedian, and songwriter. One of his famous works is the song Diculik Cinta, which became the OST of the film GJLS: IBUKU IBU-IBU.
