Senior singer Dewi Yull shared a story about her vision condition which is no longer perfect. She explained that her right eye became blind due to excessively high myopia.

"I have only one functioning eye left, the left one. Alhamdulillah, I am still grateful. It means there is still one, I can still work, I can still be useful. So life should not be about complaining. We should all be happy, brought by what makes us happy. What blessings Allah has given us. So if there is only one, well, at least there's still one," said Dewi.

Despite experiencing serious vision impairment, Dewi remains grateful for the condition she can still enjoy today. She continues to strive to live positively and productively. /far

"My minus is too high, my minus is 25. The right one, the left one is 19. So in the year 2023, there was a bubble-like liquid coming out, like bubble water, like a balloon," said Dewi Yull when met in the Tendean area on Wednesday (2/7/2025).

"Over time, the clear water turned yellow, getting denser, getting denser. At night it was already dark, the right one. I went straight to the emergency room, eye hospital," said Dewi.

It all started in 2023 when her eyes began to show strange symptoms that she had never experienced before. She realized that there was bubble-like liquid that suddenly appeared in her eye.

"Because of the high minus, I didn't feel anything, it was just suddenly there were bubbles inside. From not looking normal at all. Like water bubbles getting bigger, getting bigger, the color getting denser from clear to dark," she said.

"So be careful if there are bubbles in the eye, which makes Indonesians with high myopia, quickly go to the eye doctor, to the emergency room right away," he added.

The symptoms experienced by Dewi resulted in retinal detachment, causing her vision to be lost in one eye. She immediately underwent major medical procedures after delaying due to work matters.

"Immediate action was taken, it should have been the next day, but I had an event the next day. So the day after that, a major surgery was performed, because I was under total anesthesia. When I woke up, the operation was quick, but when I woke up, I found out they had already put silicon in the right eye. So there was light, I could still see light. Just light," she explained.
