Gavin Creel, a Broadway actor who had been active on stage for over two decades, passed away at the age of 48 at his home in Manhattan on Monday, September 30, 2024. He breathed his last due to metastatic melanotic peripheral nerve sheath sarcoma, a rare type of cancer.

Gavin Creel was widely known for his roles in various iconic musicals such as HAIR, HELLO, DOLLY!, and INTO THE WOODS. His expertise and talent in acting and singing have made him one of the most respected figures in the theater world.

Throughout his career, Gavin Creel left a profound legacy in the industry, remembered not only for his stunning performances but also for his dedication and passion for the performing arts. This loss is felt by many fans and colleagues in the theater community.

Gavin Creel's career on Broadway began in 2002 with his debut in the musical THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE alongside Sutton Foster. In his role as Jimmy Smith, he earned his first Tony nomination.
