Kapanlagi.com - Actor Chicco Jerikho returns to the world of soap operas after 14 years of focusing on the big screen. His decision to act in Ikrar Cinta Suci presents its own challenges, especially with the fast-paced production schedule that demands quick work rhythms.
After years in the film industry, Chicco admits he needs time to adjust to the busy shooting rhythm of soap operas.
"It's been quite a while, I haven't acted in soap operas for 14 years. But my co-stars helped me. In the beginning, I did more than 10 scenes, and then 20 scenes a day, and I started to get used to it. Slowly getting back into the stripping work rhythm," said Chicco Jerikho in a recent virtual press conference.
Even though he has been away from the soap opera world for quite a while, Chicco's presence still receives a warm welcome from the audience. He feels lucky to still be able to get a leading role and act alongside actors of his age.
"Getting an offer for a soap opera again after 14 years and being the co-star with peers feels young again," he said.
For Chicco, still having a place in the hearts of viewers is something he is grateful for. "Well, how should I say it, thank you, that’s a privilege and I appreciate it," he added.
As an actor, he also realizes that age is not a limitation in acting.
"But no matter what, as an actor, we rarely play a role that matches our age. We can play younger or older characters, but how can we give life to our roles," he explained.
In this soap opera, Chicco plays the role of Arka Dewanta Aryawiguna, a husband facing a major conflict in his household. The relationship between Arka and Alika (played by Alisia Rininta) is tested after a secret from the past is revealed.
"As for the development, there was another incident that affected Arka and Alika's marriage. It turns out that it was discovered that Arka had donated his sperm while he was a volunteer at university in Korea before getting married," he concluded.
