8 Portraits of Poppy Sovia While Pursuing the Hobby of Riding Motorcycles, Stories of Motorcycling Thousands of Kilometers

Not only riding motorcycles in Jakarta, but Poppy has also explored various regions in Indonesia. This 39-year-old artist has experienced riding motorcycles to Labuan Bajo, Bali, Yogyakarta, and many other places.

"The farthest I went was from NTT (East Nusa Tenggara) Larantuka, starting from Larantuka to Labuan Bajo, it's 1000 kilometers. I've been to Jogja, Bali, and Lombok. When it comes to overseas, I've been to Italy and Australia," said Poppy Sovia when met in Tendean, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (11/10/2023).

The cast of the movie SLANK GAK ADA MATINYA is not a newcomer who loves riding motorcycles. However, it only became known by many people after joining the Motor Baik community. Where most of its members are celebrities. "Actually, I've had a passion for motorcycles for a long time. It's just that because I didn't have a car back then, I used motorcycles for transportation," said Poppy Sovia.

"The intention is to use a motorcycle for work and study, but when people say 'wow, Poppy is a motorcycle girl because of off-road riding, there is a good motorcycle,' touring with Omesh and friends, 'oh, Poppy is actually a motorcycle girl,'" she added.

As a mother who also has a career in the entertainment industry, Poppy must be skilled in managing her time between hobbies and her family. Fortunately, her husband, who is also a manager, helps in managing time and maintaining a balance between work, hobbies, and family. "When it comes to managing time, I have my husband. Luckily, my husband is a manager, so he also manages time. Alhamdulillah," she said.

Poppy Sovia realizes that every action she takes carries risks, including pursuing her hobby of riding motorcycles. However, she also acknowledges that what she does is her job. For Poppy Sovia, the risks she takes are part of the journey towards success.

"It's not something that I haven't thought about, it's already felt. Actually, everything we do has its risks. When we want to take a job, especially when I went on a 13-day tour to Labuan Bajo. Well, it's just that we work, among other things, to provide for our family, so that our children can continue their education, even go to college," she said.

"It also goes back to our home, so everything comes with sacrifices. Just like what our parents did, rarely meeting them, parents working, so eventually we can go to school properly and have a good meal. So, those are the risks I take," she concluded.
