8 Portraits of Shella Saukia's Legal Counsel Questioning the Capacity of Doktif, Elza Syarief: Who is this Doktif?

Kapanlagi.com - The legal counsel of Shella Saukia, Elza Syarief emphasized that her client is a victim of the actions of the Detective Doctor or Doktif. According to her, Doktif does not have official permission from the government to review skincare products.

"Mrs. Shella Saukia and her husband created a product. This skincare product is a victim of this self-proclaimed doktif. Of course, you all know who this doktif is? Does he have permission from the government to review?" said Elza when met in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (22/1/2025).

Elza explained that the only institution authorized to oversee and regulate pharmaceutical and skincare products in Indonesia is the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). Therefore, she questioned Doktif's capacity to conduct a review that ultimately harmed Shella.

"BPOM is the only government agency that is authorized and obligated to regulate medication, including skincare. Now, this person has no authority and should not be doing that, which leads to defamation," Elza explained.

Furthermore, Elza highlighted the procedures that a product must go through before obtaining permission from BPOM. She emphasized that BPOM does not just grant permits arbitrarily, but rather through various stages of research and laboratory testing.

"I want to explain, of course the standard from BPOM looks at the content of a product with the correct procedures and not just once. The permit is issued, how much content there is, and the products are continuously researched. There is also a special lab, it can't be just any lab. So, who is this person?" she said.

Elza also revealed that Shella's skincare products previously encountered obstacles during the BPOM permit application process. However, after undergoing guidance from BPOM, the products are now in compliance with the established standards.

"Before, I was just learning like I was making skincare. But it turns out BPOM explained that when she applied to BPOM, BPOM said this product is not compliant. So finally, two years ago, that product was recalled, it has been recalled and destroyed," Elza revealed.

According to Elza, the issue has actually been resolved since the old products were destroyed. Now, Shella's skincare products have been made in accordance with the guidance and direction of BPOM.

"Well, then under the guidance of BPOM, my client started to create products that comply with the guidance from BPOM. Hence, these skincare products were released. This is already in accordance with BPOM. Here are the ingredients," he concluded.
