Portrait of Alya Rohali Proud of Her Children for Keeping Their Privacy and Choosing to Stay Away from the Spotlight

Although known as a public figure who has long been active in the entertainment world, Alya Rohali does not force her children to follow in her footsteps in the entertainment industry. In fact, her three daughters choose to maintain their privacy and stay away from the camera's spotlight.

When met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, Alya expressed her gratitude that her children are growing up with a high awareness of the boundaries between private and public life. They also do not feel the need to publicize every aspect of their lives on social media.

"My children really don't like being photographed or posted. They've never liked to be in the spotlight since they were little," said Alya.

She expressed that since childhood, her three children have been taught to have boundaries in social media. This relates to their choice to live peacefully and focus on education and social life in the real world.

"I also never force them to appear or exist on social media. If I post something, I usually ask for permission first. Sometimes they even say, 'Don’t, Mom'," she said while laughing.

Although they have attended public events with their mother a few times, Alya mentioned that her children still prefer to take a low-profile position. Even for media interviews, they tend to decline and feel more comfortable behind the scenes."If invited to appear, they rarely want to. Especially if asked to speak in front of the camera. They prefer to just be spectators," said Alya.

This closed attitude, Alya admits, actually makes her feel relieved. Because, she does not have to worry about her children getting caught up in the glamorous lifestyle often associated with the celebrity world. She wants her three children to have a normal life like other teenagers."In my opinion, that's a mature decision. They realize that not everything needs to be exposed," Alya revealed.

Alya realizes that raising children in the digital era is indeed full of challenges, especially in teaching about privacy boundaries and online existence. However, so far, she feels she has been quite successful in instilling those values."Yes, I have emphasized it from the beginning. Especially since kids today are easily exposed. So my husband and I always keep an open dialogue," she explained.

As a parent, Alya only wants her children to grow up happy, healthy, and with strong character. She does not impose her personal ambitions on their life choices, including matters of existence on social media or in the entertainment world.

"What matters is that they know who they are and have their own life choices. If they are happy and being themselves, that is more than enough for me," concluded Alya Rohali.
