Geni Faruk emphasized that the number of children is a destiny set by God. "When it comes to the number of children, it is indeed not our power. So that is actually God's power. True, isn't it?" she said during the Pagi-Pagi Ambyar event on Wednesday (23/10/2024).
She then shared her experience when she had just married Halilintar Asmid. At that time, her husband expressed his desire to have at least 13 children. "Abi (Halilintar Asmid) when we just got married, said to Umi, 'Abi wants (to have children) if possible at least 13. At that time, Umi was still in her third semester at Economics UI. That was really shocking, right?" said Geni.
However, after being blessed with 11 children, her husband feels grateful. "But it turns out that after being given 11 (children), Abi said alhamdulillah, thank you for that. So, regarding the number of (children), it is indeed God's decree," she added.
Geni Faruk emphasized that she has never interfered in Aaliyah and Thariq's personal matters, including their family plans. As a parent, she respects their decisions and has never demanded Aaliyah to have many children.
"I don't even ask if she's pregnant or not, Umi doesn't (ask). So the point is, we respect that," she explained. According to her, each couple has their own plans and efforts in building a family.
Geni prefers not to get too involved. "We don't want to interfere too much, dealing with this and that, no. So we just want to be wiser parents-in-law. We pray for them," she emphasized.
