Accused of being a Fraudster, Lawyer Says Dito Mahendra Doesn't Know Nikita Mirzani

The case arose when Nikita posted a photo of Dito Mahendra with the word 'fraudster' written on it. Feeling unjustly accused, Dito Mahendra reported the mother of three to the Serang Kota Police for alleged defamation.

"After Ms. Nikita Mirzani posted on Insta Story in which there was a photo of Dito Mahendra with the words 'abang propam jangan percaya orang ini, banyak ngomong penipu'," said Dito Mahendra's lawyer, Yafet Rissy in Senopati, South Jakarta, on Saturday (25/6/2022).

"Based on that, our client feels that his reputation has been tarnished, both formally and materially, and so our client reported it on May 16, 2022, to the Serang Kota Police," he added.

1. Doesn't Know Her

Yafet Rissy said that Dito Mahendra was surprised by the allegations made by the 36-year-old artist. Moreover, Dito Mahendra himself does not know Nikita Mirzani.

"We have personally spoken with Mr. Dito, and he was very surprised by that post because our client feels that he does not know this person. They have never interacted personally, socially, or in business, and suddenly he is accused of speaking a lot, of being a fraudster, of being PHP. I think that is a very serious accusation," he said.

Yafet Rissy said that Dito Mahendra strongly denies Nikita Mirzani's accusations of being a fraud. According to him, Dito Mahendra has a very good personality and has never been involved in criminal problems.

"So it is very surprising when we read or receive posts like that," said Yafet.

3. Reasons for Reporting in Serang

In addition, Yafet Rissy revealed the reason why Dito Mahendra reported Nikita Mirzani to the Polresta Serang Kota, Banten. According to him, when his client saw Nikita Mirzani's post, he was in the Serang Kota area. That is why Dito Mahendra reported Nikita Mirzani to the Polresta Serang Kota for alleged defamation.

"For cyber crime, it can actually be reported anywhere, and you can see that cyber crime on social media can be seen anywhere, right? Throughout Indonesia, of course, it depends on many opinions that can explain the victim, witnesses, and evidence where," said Yafet Rissy.

"But clearly at that time, Mr. Dito was in Serang and then he found out about the post from Nikita Mirzani, who happened to be at the Polres Serang Kota, and he chose to report it there," concluded Yafet Rissy.
