Adrian Maulana Reveals the Secret to Maintaining a 21-Year Marriage at Momfest 2022

On that occasion, CEO of Mothers on Mission and MoM Academy, Widya Safitri, stated that it was no coincidence that #CelebratingMoM5 became the theme of MomFest this time.

"#CelebratingMoM5 is the 5th anniversary celebration of Mothers on Mission and also a celebration for moms throughout Indonesia who have successfully overcome the difficulties of the pandemic and have grown together, especially by joining the community," said Widya.

Widya also presented heartwarming survey results where the May 2022 survey conducted by MoM Academy on 681 moms in Indonesia showed the significant role of moms in family resilience, allowing many families in Indonesia to get through the pandemic well.

According to the 2021 survey, the percentage of moms who had to work or do business to support the family's finances was quite high, reaching 30% for various reasons, one of which was a husband who lost his job or source of income. This year's survey results show that only 8.7% of wives still play the role of head of the household, and 89.7% of the primary breadwinners are husbands.

Nevertheless, moms continue to pursue their previous endeavors for various reasons, ranging from hobbies and self-existence to supporting the family's finances.

3. Increasing Domestic Violence Rates

The talk show at Momfest 2022 invited Rista Zwestika, a financial planner from Finansialku, to discuss how to encourage Moms to become independent, especially in terms of finances.

The data presented by Rista is roughly the same as the results of the MoM Academy survey in 2021, which found that women's contribution to family finances even reached 50%. Rista added that this phenomenon has actually led to an increase in domestic violence rates.

This could be due to a lack of communication and understanding from both parties. Financial arrangements between husbands and wives should be discussed and agreed upon, especially for those who combine their income or expenses.

Dessy Ilsanti and public figure Adrian Maulana, a married couple invited to Momfest 2022, shared their experiences in maintaining the integrity and happiness of their family for 21 years. They emphasized the importance of maintaining communication, understanding, and support for each other.

"In a marriage, there needs to be a shared vision and mission to create commitment, which will be the guardian of the family's integrity. Adrian also added that husbands need to understand their wives' needs, especially for those who are full-time moms and busy taking care of the family. Husbands must be able to maintain their wives' mental health and happiness," said Adrian.
