After a Long Break from the Singing World, Ariel Tatum Makes a Comeback Through the Musical Film 'SEPEDA PRESIDEN'

Kapanlagi.com - Ariel Tatum took part in a feature film titled SEPEDA PRESIDEN directed by Garin Nugroho. Not only acting, Ariel Tatum also sings to fill the original soundtrack of this film.

When met in the Fatmawati area, South Jakarta, Monday (6/12), Ariel Tatum admitted that her role in this film is not a comeback moment for her. It all happened by chance when the director asked her to sing in the film Sepeda Presiden.

"Because I never had the feeling like, 'I don't want to sing anymore.' So it just happened in this film and luckily it's a musical, so I sing again," said Ariel Tatum.

1. Impressions During Film Shooting

During the process of making this film, this 25-year-old woman also shared various impressions she experienced during the shooting. Not only that, for approximately one month in Papua, Ariel became fond of eating fish.

"First, the beauty of nature, second, the energy of the Papuan children is extraordinary, their enthusiasm is contagious, so I can't get tired," she said.

"As for the food, I really enjoyed the culinary experience there. During my time in Papua, I ate a lot of fish. When else can we eat fish? The culinary experience was incredibly delicious. I was very enthusiastic and tried various dishes," she continued.

In addition, Ariel Tatum definitely wanted to enjoy the beauty of Papua's nature while completing the shooting of the film. Among the many beautiful locations in Papua, Kalibiru became Ariel's favorite.

"Kalibiru, as you can see in the trailer, there's a scene where I am dancing with braids. It was one of the most magical experiences in my life in Kalibiru, although all the experiences in Papua were magical, Kalibiru was extraordinary," she explained.

However, there is something else that makes this 25-year-old woman happy, especially when she is trusted to sing the original soundtrack of the movie SEPEDA PRESIDEN. According to her, singing while acting reminds her of her childhood when she first played in a musical drama film.

"I'm really happy, honestly. My first film was a musical drama when I was 10 years old, so when shooting SEPEDA PRESIDEN, there are many feelings that I can relate to," said Ariel Tatum.

"Because in this film, I act, sing, and dance, it feels like going back to when I was a child," she added.

4. Exciting Experience

Not only that, this film also involves children from Papua, which sets it apart from previous films. Enjoying the production process, Ariel admitted that she had almost no difficulties when she had to act while singing.

"It was really fun because they were so relaxed and spontaneous, so I was carried away too. Luckily, all the actors were given the freedom to improvise, so we never got stuck. That's why our singing scenes were always different," she said.

In addition to being the main character in the film SEPEDA PRESIDEN, Ariel also contributed to the original soundtrack (OST) of the film titled Risau, Kunang Kunang, and Bunga Anggrek. The film also involves The Papua Kids (Arnold Asmuruf, Franken Ramandei, and Elias Pandawa), Joanita Chatari, Ian William, and Sita Nursanti, and is scheduled to be released on December 23, 2021.
