Ahmad Dhani Plans to Adopt a Child from Gaza, Here’s Why

Musician Ahmad Dhani once again surprised the public with the latest news about his family's developments. The frontman of the band Dewa 19 confirmed that he has officially added a new family member through adoption.

Dhani explained that the child he is raising was obtained from a social foundation or orphanage. Although he does not know the background of the child's biological parents, he remains committed to providing full love.

"Yes, just one child. I don’t know the parents, because it is indeed an adoption from an orphanage," said Ahmad Dhani in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, Friday (19/12/2025).

This decision to adopt a child was apparently motivated by a longing for the times when his three eldest sons, Al, El, and Dul, were still young. Remembering that now his three sons have grown up and have their own busy lives, Dhani felt the need for a new figure who could bring joy and liven up his home again.

"The story is we want to adopt a child to replace Al, El, and Dul who have grown up, right? So we have adopted one child," said Dhani.

However, Ahmad Dhani's humanitarian actions do not stop there. The husband of Mulan Jameela apparently has broader intentions to help children who are victims of conflict abroad.

He disclosed a grand plan to adopt a child from the Palestinian region, which is currently still in a state of war. "The plan is to adopt a child from Gaza," he revealed.

The noble intention is not merely a personal emotional desire, but there are spiritual values that Dhani holds firmly. For Dhani, bringing in and nurturing orphans within the family is a religious trust that he wants to fulfill meaningfully in his life.

"It is indeed in the religious command that there must be orphans in a family," he explained.

Before solidifying that determination, Dhani ensured that communication within his family remained very good. He admitted to having asked for opinions and discussed with Al, El, and Dul about his desire to add a new sibling through adoption.

Fortunately, his three sons welcomed the plan with open arms as they also had the same interest in young children. Dhani already had his own criteria for choosing new family members to be in harmony with his other children.

"Yes (we talked), coincidentally the kids love little children. So the criteria are basically handsome or beautiful," concluded Ahmad Dhani.
