Already Home from the Hospital After Surgery, Sarwendah Explains About Her Illness

Sarwendah has been allowed to go home after a few days of treatment at the hospital. Ruben Onsu's wife has just undergone sinus surgery which caused blockage in her respiratory tract.

"Today I am allowed to go home from the hospital, actually the plan was yesterday. Well, when you're in the hospital, you can't plan," said Sarwendah when met at Siloam Lippo Karawaci Hospital, Tangerang, on Monday (29/4/2024).

"Originally, it was supposed to be tomorrow, but after the consultation, I was allowed to go home, the wound can still be managed, a little bleeding is normal and I can go home," she added.

Sarwendah then explained about her illness. This mother of three admitted that she routinely undergoes examinations to monitor the cyst in her brain stem.

"I have been checking the cyst in my brain every few months, 3 months, 6 months, and once a year. Because the cyst is in the brain stem, I'm afraid it will grow bigger, so I have to check it," she said.

However, during the second examination, it was found that she also had problems with her sinuses. "So, during the second cyst check, it turns out I have sinusitis. The second cyst check showed sinusitis on the left side, and the third cyst check showed sinusitis on the right side, but it's only a little," she continued.

This sinus condition is affecting Sarwendah's respiratory tract. In fact, because of this, she experiences complaints such as frequent buzzing sounds.

"I went to the doctor, and the doctor said 'we need to take action' because my voice has been hoarse all the time, and it turns out that after that, it got really painful, I couldn't bear it," she said.

"I also have a schedule for a head MRI. When the schedule was full, there were already sinus and polyps that were really big and completely blocking," she continued.

Sarwendah explained that this was her first time undergoing surgery. Initially, she was afraid before the procedure was done. However, she felt relieved because her condition had improved and she was able to go home.

"When I was already operated on yesterday, I was nervous and scared because it was my first time having total anesthesia surgery, so it was my first time," she said.

Funny, many people think Sarwenda just finished a nose surgery at a beauty clinic. Because after the surgery, her nose looks swollen.

"Why do people say that I had a nose surgery, not a sinus surgery? This swelling is because of the procedure, it turns out that after the surgery, I have abnormalities in both nasal passages," she said.

"Usually, there is only one nasal passage that releases mucus, but I have two. That's why if there is mucus or anything, it just stays there," Sarwendah concluded.
