Ammar Zoni Claims He Was Electrocuted During Arrest Process, This Is What His Lawyer Says

The drug case involving Ammar Zoni is back in court with the agenda of hearing witness testimonies at the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (18/12/2025). During the session, Ammar Zoni made a shocking confession regarding acts of violence and intimidation during the legal process.

Ammar Zoni's lawyer, Jon Mathias, stated that his client experienced inhumane treatment during his detention. These facts began to emerge one by one during the trial, including allegations of torture in the form of electrocution that the actor experienced.

"Yes, Alhamdulillah, it means that with his presence, everything he experienced can now be seen by all the journalists. In the past, there was even some sort of pressure where it was said he was electrocuted, now this is a confession that with the condition of being tortured is legally flawed," said Jon Mathias at the District Court, Central Jakarta, Thursday (18/12/2025).

Not only about physical violence, Ammar Zoni also made a shocking confession regarding a request for a large sum of money.

The confession was made by Ammar directly in front of the panel of judges during the trial process in the detention center.

"Yes, that was the confession from Ammar during the trial. Okay?," said Jon Mathias.

In response to the allegation of electrical shock, Jon Mathias stated that he would soon take further legal action. He wants to ensure whether there is physical evidence or other supporting evidence that can strengthen Ammar Zoni's statement for the purpose of defense.

"Well, right now it has been explained by Ammar. The proof will be followed up later; we will talk to Ammar about whether there is evidence or not. But the confession is certainly what happened to him," Jon explained.

Jon believes that any form of Police Investigation Report (BAP) taken under duress or torture should not be considered valid evidence. He described this as a serious violation of the Police Operational Standards (SOP) and Human Rights.

"This means that the Minutes of the Meeting, which were under pressure and torture, are already a violation of SOP and also a violation of the Chief of Police Regulation regarding Human Rights, right? If this is proven later, then it means all are legally flawed," he revealed.
