Ammar Zoni Sends Letter to the President, Requesting Amnesty and Rehabilitation

Ammar Zoni's legal team, Jon Mathias, confirmed the existence of the letter. In his narrative, Jon explained that his client's request aligns with the government's spirit in addressing drug abuse. The defense hopes that Ammar can receive amnesty and appropriate legal protection.

The main reason Ammar submitted this request is based on his status as a public figure who has fallen into drug use. He believes that the appropriate approach for drug users is medical rehabilitation, not merely imprisonment. "To the President, we ask that you please convey this on my behalf," Ammar Zoni added to the media crew.

Ammar referred to the President's statement regarding the obligation of rehabilitation for drug users. He hopes that his request will be heard so that he can have a second chance to recover and rebuild his life, which has been shattered. "Because indeed, the excerpt from the President is clear that users, especially public figures, must be rehabilitated. So we ask, hopefully with the submission of this request, an amnesty for rehabilitation can be granted or that all of this can be resolved. To get another chance," said the 32-year-old man.

As information, Ammar Zoni is charged with being involved in drug trafficking along with five other defendants. The Public Prosecutor stated that Ammar received 100 grams of meth from someone named Andre who is currently at large (DPO) in December 2024.

In addition, Ammar is also charged with delivering 50 grams of meth to Muhammad Rivaldi to be distributed within the detention center. For his actions, he is charged under multiple articles, including Article 114 Paragraph (2) regarding intermediaries in drug transactions.
