Detective Doctor Confident Judge Will Reject Pretrial of Dr. Richard Lee

The pretrial hearing filed by Dr. Richard Lee (DRL) against the Metro Jaya Police (PMJ) has now entered its final chapter. In the conclusion hearing agenda held today, the Detective Doctor, or fondly called Doktif, also provided his perspective on the legal proceedings at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (2/9/2026).

Doktif believes that the pretrial legal action taken by Dr. Richard Lee appears to be forced. According to him, the police have fulfilled all the legal requirements necessary for the determination of suspect status, making the chances of winning for the doctor very slim.

"If according to Doktif it is indeed forced, because in reality he also does not want to carry out the prapit actually. That's it. Why? Because the requirements for valid evidence have already been fulfilled by the Metro Jaya Police," said Doktif at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday (9/2/2026).

He added that this case is very different from the legal disputes that Richard Lee faced previously. Doktif sees that the investigators from the Metro Jaya Police have worked very meticulously to avoid giving any legal loopholes to the applicant.

"But if it's defamation, that cannot be. So one of the weaknesses of PMJ is that, which is why the prapit was won by brother DRL. But this time the case is very different. This time PMJ has no loopholes at all," he explained.

Furthermore, Doktif suspects that there is an attempt to delay the pretrial process. He also highlights the use of a criminal expert witness by PMJ who previously defended Doctor Richard Lee in an old case.

"That's right, this is just buying time. In fact, what the public may not know is that the expert witness brought by PMJ yesterday is the same expert witness who was also used by DRL when defending him," he stated.

Doktif is also very optimistic that the judge will issue a fair decision next Wednesday. His confidence is strengthened by observing the integrity of the judicial institution, which is currently under public scrutiny.

"So. So, Doctor is confident that the judge will uphold the red and white. Why? Because all the requirements for the determination of the suspect have been met by the Metro Jaya Police, that's why the process is taking so long, because they do not want any loopholes like that," he concluded.
