Ammar Zoni's Letter Turns Out to be a 'Secret Weapon' Intentionally Kept for Court

A letter written by Ammar Zoni before being transferred to Nusakambangan Prison turns out to be more than just an outpouring of a friend's heart. More than that, the six-page letter has now become a crucial part of the legal strategy that will be used to counter the charges against him.

Ustaz Derry Sulaiman, as the recipient of the letter's trust, consciously chose not to disclose its entire contents to the public. He revealed that there are parts he deliberately withheld and will not disclose at this time to maintain its effectiveness as evidence in the upcoming trial.

"If that is published now, it seems inappropriate," said Ustaz Derry Sulaiman when contacted by the media on Friday (17/10/2025).

According to him, the letter has two main parts. The first part, which he has shared, contains a clarification and denial from Ammar that he is not a drug dealer or trafficker."On the first page, he is neither a dealer nor a trafficker. He is just clarifying. He has never sold, he is just undergoing rehabilitation," explained Ustaz Derry.

However, the next part of the letter contains information that is much more sensitive and "explosive," namely regarding allegations of extortion, complete with the names of the perpetrators and the amounts involved. This information has now become a "secret weapon".

The decision to withhold this information, according to Ustaz Derry, is to avoid public uproar and to ensure that the facts can be revealed officially in court.

"The amount and who extorted it are written down but don't write it now, brother. In court, it's less because (worried) it might go viral now, and later the court will decide," he asserted.

As is known, Ammar Zoni is embroiled in a drug case for the fourth time after being suspected of being involved in a drug trafficking network within Salemba Prison.

This strategy of "saving ammunition" indicates that Ammar Zoni's side has prepared a serious defense in court. They do not want this crucial evidence to lose its strength if revealed to the public too early.
