Dispute at RT Meeting, Suspect Allegedly Unhappy with Sandy Permana's Argument Regarding Alcohol Ban

Kapanlagi.com - Ade Andriani, Sandy Permana's wife, explains the background of the dispute that allegedly triggered the bloody conflict. According to her, the argument was just a regular discussion that should not have ended in violence.

"Because it was just a normal dispute. There was no fighting. You know, in a forum, we have ordinary arguments," said Sandy's wife, Ade Andriani, at the funeral home in Cibarusah, Bekasi Regency, on Monday (1/13/2025).

Ade revealed that the issue began with discussions about inappropriate behaviors in the environment for children. This topic became a trigger for tension during the residents' meeting.

"It was just that we were discussing what was happening in the environment. And he couldn't accept it," said Ade.

1. The Perpetrator Does Not Accept the New Rules

Ade added that the conflict is escalating because it is suspected that there was a discussion regarding the consumption of alcoholic beverages in that environment. According to him, the perpetrator felt offended when Sandy raised the issue.

"If he doesn't accept it, that means he's a drinker. Because we discussed not drinking here at that time. There are many children here," said Ade.

Ade believes the perpetrator should be able to accept the aspirations conveyed, especially since the perpetrator also has children. He is concerned that children will imitate bad behavior if they see adults drinking alcohol in their environment.

"Don't set a bad example for the children. He is being rude," he said.

The local RT chairman, Sudarmadji, confirmed the conflict between Sandy and the perpetrator in a community meeting. He explained that the meeting took place in October 2024 and was part of the regular community gatherings held three times a year.

"As for the quarrel that occurred during the activity, we all, almost all the residents know about this incident. This happened in one meeting," said Sudarmadji.

2. Residents Since 2013

According to Sudarmadji, the conflict was initially considered not serious because it was just a regular argument. However, tensions escalated when the perpetrator was unhappy with the opinion expressed by Sandy.

"At the meeting in October, there indeed was, so to speak, a slight friction. But I think it was a friction that I consider not serious because it did not, what should I say, lead to what we were discussing," said Sudarmadji.

Sudarmadji added that the debate was merely a back-and-forth exchange of words between the perpetrator and the victim. Nevertheless, the atmosphere of the meeting became heated because both parties were unwilling to back down.

"So it was just the perpetrator or the suspected perpetrator expressing their displeasure to the victim who was presenting their aspirations or opinions excessively. Then it was countered by the victim and they were just pointing fingers at each other with words," explained Sudarmadji.

Sudarmadji also revealed that both the victim and the perpetrator have been residents of that area since 2013. Although the conflict subsided after the meeting ended, the tension between them apparently was not completely over.

"Actually, they have all been residents here since 2013, both the victim and the perpetrator. So the issue was actually resolved, it was resolved up to that point," he said.

According to Sudarmadji, after the meeting ended, there was no further discussion regarding the conflict. However, the tragic incident on Sunday morning showed that the long-standing conflict still leaves unresolved wounds.

"So there is no further discussion, we return to the meeting discussion and actually," said Sudarmadji.
