Joking Around During a Visit, Ginanjar Did Not Expect Nurul Qomar to Pass Away

Kapanlagi.com - The Indonesian comedy world is once again in mourning after Nurul Qomar, a member of the legendary comedy group Empat Sekawan, breathed his last on Wednesday (1/8/2025). His friend and colleague in the group, Ginanjar, admitted he could not believe that Qomar was gone forever.

"It feels like, I don't know, it doesn't feel real. It's like floating because I can't believe that Mas Qomar passed away today," said Ginanjar at RSUD Tangerang, Wednesday (1/8/2025).

All this time, Ginanjar felt optimistic that Qomar would recover as before. He always hoped Qomar could return to the treatment room and live a normal life.

"Even though he was sick, critical, but in the past few days he could recover again. I thought I would come and he would recover and be brought back to the treatment room," he said.

1. Had a Moment of Joking Around

A few days before Qomar's departure, Ginanjar still had the chance to visit and chat with his friend. During that moment, they teased each other, as was their habit.

"A few days ago. Still able to joke around, I still teased him, he could still tease back, joke around. Video call with his wife too. Both were Derry 3 days ago," he said.

Yesterday, Eman, who is also a member of the Four Friends, had the chance to visit Qomar in the hospital. During that visit, Eman invited Ginanjar to chat via video call with Qomar.

"Yesterday, he was still in the treatment room when Eman and the family visited. As soon as we video called, we were teasing each other with Mas Qomar. I’m wearing a shirt with Mas Qomar's picture on it. He smiled and laughed. He spoke but it wasn’t clear. Eman teased him," said Ginanjar.

2. Qomar's Condition Suddenly Worsens

However, not long after Eman left the hospital, Qomar's condition suddenly worsened. Qomar eventually had to be transferred to the ICU before taking his last breath that afternoon.

"Well, an hour later Eman came home feeling down, so he was taken to the ICU. Our hope was that he could recover from the ICU, but in the end, we didn't expect this," concluded Ginanjar.
