Had a Visit Before Entering ICU, Eman Four Cries Hearing News of Nurul Qomar's Passing

Kapanlagi.com - The sad news envelops the world of comedy in the homeland after Nurul Qomar, a comedian and member of the legendary comedy group Empat Sekawan, passed away on Wednesday (1/8/2025).

Qomar took his last breath after several days of intensive care at RSUD Tangerang due to colon cancer.

Eman, one of the members of Empat Sekawan, could not hold back his tears upon hearing the news. He had visited Qomar before his friend was moved to the ICU.

"I had visited him yesterday, he seemed to be unconscious. I massaged him. When I got home, I received news that he was in the ICU. My heart just couldn't take it," said Eman, crying when met at RSUD Tangerang, Wednesday (1/8/2025).

1. Cannot Believe Qomar is No More

Qomar's other friend, Ginanjar, admitted that he found it hard to accept the reality that Qomar is no longer with us. He expressed his disbelief over the departure of a friend who was always known for his spirit, even while battling illness.

"It feels like he’s not on this earth anymore, like I can’t believe that Mas Qomar passed away today. Even though he was sick, in critical condition, he could recover, come back, and return home," said Ginanjar.

"It’s like, what do you call it, it doesn’t feel real, like floating because I can’t believe that Mas Qomar passed away today," added Ginanjar.

Ginanjar also recalled the moment a few days ago when he visited Qomar in the hospital. Although Qomar was weak, he could still joke, making the atmosphere feel lighter.

However, the situation changed quickly after Eman and his wife visited Qomar. Shortly after that, Qomar’s condition worsened, and he had to be moved to the ICU.

"Yesterday he was still in the treatment room when Eman and his wife visited. Then an hour after Eman (went home from the hospital), he suddenly dropped, and he was taken to the ICU," said Ginanjar.

"Our hope was for him to come out of the ICU and go back to treatment, to return to the treatment room, but in the end, he passed away. I didn’t expect it," continued Ginanjar.

2. Colon Cancer Recurrence

Nurul Qomar was previously hospitalized due to colon cancer that recurred after being declared cured in 2022. The disease was first diagnosed in September 2021. At that time, he was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy 11 times.

After going through a long and difficult treatment process, Qomar was finally declared cured in June 2022. However, the cancer returned and ultimately took his life.

Qomar's passing left a deep sorrow for his family, friends, and fans. He will always be remembered as a talented comedian who could bring laughter at every opportunity, even in the midst of his battle against the disease.
